Research indicates that women perform better, advance faster, and choose to stay in their organizations when they have effective mentors and sponsors. Often these mentor / sponsors are men, and these gentlemen may need help with the particular challenges and opportunities that come with mentoring and sponsoring women.

 

Male/female mentoring teams can be powerful two-way streets, in which both people learn to improve their performance. Similar dynamics hold true when women mentor men. And such reciprocal mentoring relationships can also influence the organization to grow a culture of high-performing gender collaboration.
